A set of three thin, rusted metal plates strung together with twine, traditionally used as a simple noise maker or rattle in Japan. Each plate is ridged and has the most beautiful rusted and worn surface markings from age and use. When shaken, the plates create a soft, clattering sound. A unique piece of everyday folk craft with a strong wabi-sabi presence. Largest metal piece measures about 5.25 inches in length.
