Vintage Japanese Boro Rag Ball
$55.00
Dating from the Meiji era (1868-1912), this is a one-of-a-kind vintage Japanese boro textile ball, made by hand from long strips of repurposed cloth- indigo-dyed cotton, kimono remnants, and other household fabrics. Traditionally used for mending, weaving, or storage of textile scraps, these balls embody the boro spirit of resourcefulness and reuse. Unique color variations and textures reflect decades of lived history. It measures about 11 inches in circumference.
