This item from Nairobi likely dates to the early 1900s. It is a wooden container that was traditionally used to store and transport food. It is a one-of-a-kind, hand craved item that is both utilitarian and beautiful. This piece has a lid and an attached braided handle made from hide. This jug measures 6.5 inches in height and 4 inches at its widest part.
