This item is an antique metal spice caddy complete with six labeled spice tins inside. Based on my research, best guest is that this is from the late 1800s to early 1900s. It measures 10 x 7 x 4 inches and has hinged lid with handle. There likely was a front latch at one time but that is missing. and a latch. The surface is beautifully aged, scratched and distressed. The is a slot on the inside lid that once held a grater as was part of the custom. The inside spice tins are 3 inches square with hinged lids topped each with a button pull. This would be perfect either for studio storage or as a base for an assemblage/art piece.
