A hand-braided rope made from recycled Japanese textiles — strips of old kimono, workwear, and household cloth woven together in a traditional rural style. These soft, durable ropes were used throughout the mid-20th century for everyday tasks: bundling firewood, securing baskets, tying bedding, and general household work. The mix of faded colors, frayed edges, and irregular textures reflects decades of practical use and the Japanese ethos of mottainai (waste nothing). This item is for a one yard length of rope.
