Antique Carpenter’s Scribe
$18.50
This item is a handmade carpenter's scribe, estimated to have been made in the early 1900s. A scribe enables the transfer of the exact contours of an irregular surface - such as an uneven floor - onto a piece of wood. The wooden nob turns and tightens, allowing the element to move. A hole is in one end, making this piece easy to hang or attach to an assemblage. It measures about 8.5 inches in height.
