My name is Jackie Jimerson and I am a mixed media artist and designer. I found my way to mixed media through papercrafting about five years ago, and it has continued to feed my love for learning and experimenting. After a few years of creating mixed media art, I realized that I also enjoy making for makers, so I opened The Artisan’s Cache on Etsy. There I sell my stencils, stamps, hand-bound journals, and carefully curated ephemera packs. In early 2020, I joined the Gel Press Creative Team where I am able to let my passion for gelatin printing reach more people. I currently live in a south suburb of Chicago, Illinois with my son, where I work full time as an IT Data Specialist.

Moikka! My name is Riikka Kovasin and I am a mixed media crafter from Finland. I live in Helsinki with my darling husband and our two sweet daughters. Creating is my passion and a way of self-care. Besides family and crafts, my weeks are filled with a full-time job. My blog is called "Paperiliitin", a Finnish word for a paperclip and I have this office utensil tattooed in my right forearm. I have been doing all sorts of crafts my whole life and studied to be a clothing designer, but never did that profession for a living. Instead I worked for different theaters for years as a seamstress. My favorite part of that experience was to see how the fabrics were manipulated to resemble something totally different they were to begin with. I really got into papercrafts after I found scrapbooking when my older daughter was about 6 months old - that's over 10 years ago. I opened my first jar of gesso when my younger one was born, about a year later and there hasn't been turning back since. My greatest revelation has been "it's only paper" when I was fearing to add some mediums to my layout. This revelation set me free to experiment as it made me fearless to try and possibly fail. Since those first splashes of gesso my style has evolved to more and more mixed media direction and nowadays, I tend to go dimensional and do more altered and mixed media pieces than regular layouts.I absolutely adore getting my hands into paints and mediums. To me the process of creating is equally important than the finished project.

A teacher by degree but an artist at heart, I have been professionally and personally engaged in the art and craft community for many years. Paper crafting, floral arranging, photography, stylizing, watercoloring, stamp designing, home & party decor, & sewing, as well as mixed media are a few of my favorite things to do. Can you tell that I believe “variety IS the spice of life?”  In addition to being a wedding florist, I am on the Hero Arts Creative Team, work behind the scenes creating projects for packaging, and have a blog column called “DIY with Debi”.  Currently a Columnist & “Pinner” for StencilGirl®, I am also an instructor for StencilGirl Studio’s online course, “The Art of Cardmaking” and was an instructor in the video series, “21 Secrets” by Dirty Footprint Studios. My work has been featured in “Where Women Create”, “Where Women Cook”, “Cloth Paper Scissors”, “Somerset Studios” and “Apronology” magazines. In my spare time, outside of art of course, I love being with my family & friends, junking, traveling and updating my home. (I have started feeling like I want to garden. What the heck?) Having left a corporate job a few years ago, I am pursuing my dream of self-employment and am excited to be on this new adventure and see where it leads.  If I could do anything in life, this would pretty much be it!

I am a mixed media artist and a Gypsetter. I love to travel as it provides me with an incredible amount of inspiration for my work! I studied Paper making, Printmaking and Bookbinding in the tradition of Apprenticing as these disciplines were dying art forms in the 80's and only being revived by artists. I subsequently taught in Universities and Museum systems as an Adjunct Professor, often times setting up the programs in the Art Departments of these Schools nationally, as the discipline of Book as Art was becoming recognized as a significant art form. I also developed and taught in the Book Binding department at the Smithsonian Institution. I have exhibited widely nationally and internationally. I discovered the Gelli plate 9 years ago, and found it to be the perfect studio tool to bring my passions together without the expensive set up of a traditional printmaking studio. Plus it travels easy!  My goal was to develop high quality techniques to encourage it's use by artists of all disciplines.

I am Rachel Juanita, the artist behind Soul Reign Art. I am a mixed media artist who reunited with art after a 20 year career in coaching and leadership development in the military, government and public sector. After graduating from seminary in preparing to go into ministry, I experienced a traumatic soul wounding that sent my voice into exile.  It was only thru art that I was able to heal, restore and reclaim my voice. The freedom and lack of control that mixed media provided was just the balm that was needed to express the full emotion of my trauma and release the past so that my soul could reign. I am grateful that God used art to heal my wounded soul and to serve as a platform to share the transformative power of art with others. It is my purpose and passion to help others in their journey of emotional, spiritual and cultural healing thru the transformative power of art. I create art, art courses, experiences and excursions to facilitate healing. My art style reflects my personal quest to connect with my ancestors and ancient artisans, in what I call “Tribal Marks Art” . Every piece of art I create, I sign with my heart’s prayer, “May Your Soul Reign.”

My name is Phoebe Tonosaki, I am a Hong Konger, and moved to Japan since I get married to a Japanese on 2004. I have always loved anything handmade or just simply creating as a child. Sadly, there weren't many channels and opportunities to learn, to discover being in a city that does not value arts and creativeness such as HK. It was not until I moved to Chiba, a very small and distanced town two and half hours away from Capital Tokyo where I live now, that I was able to find mixed media and paper crafting. I fell in love madly in mixed media. My biggest passion is altered arts with lots of texture and depth. I also love multiple layers style which give a lot space to explore and see. I also do a lot of paper crafting such as paper album, mixed media layouts. It is one of the tool to help me introducing mixed media into my workshops/classes for the audience in Japan because mixed media is still far from well known and familiar within Japan. I was one of those people that cannot draw (at all!), my arts teacher laughed at my work in classes, the 12 years old me would have never imagined one day I would be able to pick up brushes and paints, pull out my emotion and passion to create, that I could create pieces that speak to others and touch souls.  So I want to take this opportunity to tell all of you who are reading: that life is full of wonder, life is full of surprise and opportunities. There are doors and windows for us everywhere! I am hoping to bring you some inspiring and fun time together with the other teamie, under the supervision of Seth. Greetings from Japan!
